About Cancer (कर्क)
Personality & Nature
Cancer (Karka) natives are emotional, intuitive and protective of family and home. Ruled by the Moon and belonging to the Water element, Karka Moon people feel things deeply and often put loved ones first. The cardinal quality gives an instinct to nurture and start close bonds, though mood swings and holding onto the past can come with this sensitivity.
Ruling Planet: Moon
The Moon governs the mind, emotions and instinctive responses, and since Cancer is the Moon's own sign, this connection is especially strong. It brings sharp intuition, empathy and a strong pull toward home, family and emotional security. Lunar transits and dashas are felt more keenly by Cancer natives than most other signs.
Compatibility
Cancer bonds well with Scorpio and Pisces, the other Water signs, sharing emotional depth and intuitive understanding. Taurus offers grounding stability. Matches with Aries or Libra can work, but need conscious effort to balance Cancer's need for security with their partner's more outward nature.
Frequently asked questions
What is Cancer daily horoscope?
The Cancer daily horoscope is a Vedic astrology prediction based on the Moon sign Cancer. It covers career, love, health, finances and family based on current planetary transits and their influence on your natal Moon sign.
Is Vedic horoscope based on Moon sign or Sun sign?
Vedic (Jyotish) horoscopes are based on the Moon sign (Rashi), not the Sun sign used in Western astrology. The Moon sign is determined by the Moon's position in the sidereal zodiac at the time of your birth, and it governs your mind, emotions and inner nature.
I don't know my Moon sign. How do I find it?
Your Moon sign depends on your exact birth date, time and place, not just the day you were born. Enter your birth details on the Astrotattwa homepage to generate a free chart, and your Moon sign will be shown there.
Does this horoscope apply if I only know my Sun sign?
Not directly. Apps that use your Sun sign are following Western astrology, based on your birth date alone. Vedic astrology uses the Moon sign, based on the exact time of your birth. If you only know your Sun sign, generate a free chart first to find your correct Moon sign.
How accurate is a daily horoscope?
A daily horoscope reflects general planetary influences on your Moon sign, so it's the same for everyone born under that sign. For predictions based on your own exact birth date, time and place, check your full kundli.
