Key 2026 Planetary Notes: Venus is combust Jan 1 – Feb 16 and again Oct 18–30 — no dates are shown in these windows, which is why January 2026 has no listings at all. Jupiter is in Guru Tara Asta (not visible in the sky) through most of August — no dates are shown there either. Outside that window, Jupiter retrograde/combust is a soft factor, not a hard exclusion, but consult your astrologer. KharMaas (Sun in Sagittarius) applies ~Jan 1–14 and ~Dec 16–31; second KharMaas (Sun in Pisces) ~Mar 14 – Apr 13 — dates in these windows are excluded, as are dates with the Sun in Kanya (Virgo), ~Sep 17 – Oct 17. Dates flagged with ⚠ have a soft restriction (e.g. Jupiter retrograde/combust) worth discussing with your astrologer — use the Marriage Muhurta tool for full personal analysis.

How Vivah Muhurat is Calculated

A Vivah Muhurat is selected by evaluating five Panchang elements and several planetary conditions simultaneously. The dates on this page follow the traditional Vedic Panchang standard — the same system used by pandits and Jyotish astrologers across India.

Tithi

The lunar day must be auspicious — Dwitiya, Tritiya, Panchami, Saptami, Dashami, Ekadashi, Trayodashi are favoured. Ashtami, Chaturdashi, Amavasya are avoided.

Nakshatra

Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Revati are auspicious for marriage.

Vara (Weekday)

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are considered auspicious. Tuesday and Saturday are excluded.

Lagna (Rising Sign)

The ascendant at the time of ceremony should be a fixed sign (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) or a dual sign. Avoid the 8th house from natal Moon.

Jupiter & Venus

Neither Jupiter (Guru) nor Venus (Shukra) should be combust or retrograde — these two planets govern wisdom and love in marriage. Venus combustion and Guru Tara Asta (Jupiter not visible after conjunction with the Sun) fully exclude a date.

Solar Month & Khar Maas

Marriage is avoided while the Sun transits Sagittarius or Pisces (Khar Maas) or Kanya/Virgo (a prohibited solar month) — periods traditionally unsuitable for auspicious ceremonies.
